Charlie Sheen Loses; Whitney Houston Bitch Slaps Malibu Messiah

I went 4-0 for the first time last week, and the Colorado Snow (4-0) finally defeated Charlie Sheen (3-1), 377-358.  Leading scorers for the Colorado Snow were Felix Hernandez with 57, Freddie Freeman with 33, and Carlos Gonzalez with 32 points.  The Preacher beat my pitching rotation 155-132, but my hitters rose to the occasion outscoring Sheen by 32 points.

The Minnesota M and M Boys (3-1) managed a win against David Damn (0-4) despite losing Justin Morneau to the DL.  Jered Weaver’s no-hitter against the Twins certainly helped, as Weaver was my high scorer with 40 points.  Jose Reyes, Ryan Braun, Matt Holliday, Torii Hunter, Ichiro Suzuki, Derek Jeter, and Michael Bourn all scored 20 points or more.  The Preacher beat me in pitching again, 143-141, but my hitters reigned supreme.

Whitney Houston (2-2) was swinging a hot bat last week and pitching with precision, dominating Malibu Messiah (0-4) by 99 points.  The pitching staff alone contributed 236 points to keep Messiah winless.  It seems I have another powerhouse on my hands that needs to be broken up before the trade deadline.

In Losers Buy a Ball League, I was able to overcome an injured lineup with excellent pitching to beat the Preacher 452-400.  My pitching staff won the week netting 263 points to the Preacher’s 173.  I may have to make some moves to pick up some bats, but the GoGonzoJournal Thompsons are looking good at (3-1).  Last week’s debacle regarding my opponent’s blatant misuse of the bench has still not been resolved, but we are working to find a solution.

I couldn’t have imagined my first month of fantasy baseball in 7 years going as well as it has, but I’m not going to argue with Pujols not hitting and pitching ruling the day.  I like that kind of league, and I like that kind of team.  Good pitching always prevails over good hitting, and I have great pitching.
