Back to Abnormal with Joe Biden
It has been a particularly unsightly year for politics. Each corner turned is another subsequent kick in the groin, caught between a rock and an increasingly hard place. We only very nearly got rid of the spray-tanned little crook running about the White House like a backyard playset, but now the next era of empty words and unheard cries is about to take hold. Joe Biden is absolutely the shinier shit of the great four-year decision, but his stench still cuts through the senses like daggers to flesh. If his past escapades leave us anything to judge the future by, it will be a bloody and painful future for all.
As to be expected from those of his ilk, his cheery and positive stage demeanor only begins to hide the decades of ignorance and war mongering under the Biden belt. From claiming inclusive classrooms would thrust our children into a “racial jungle” to being over Obama’s shoulder while the bombs dropped on innocent skulls overseas, there is no sense of hope or progress to be found by those who pay attention to such things. The Biden victory can easily be attributed to people simply not wanting another quad of the orange piglet, but intentions have no bearing on what the inescapable future holds.
“Back to normal” he says in between mangled thoughts. Not by our standards, because if that mattered we wouldn’t be in this mess. But what is “America’s normal” to those who rule over us? Another four years of bombs and police supremacy?
If the past tells us anything, it’s to tread lightly on dangerous soil we’ve trodden before, and it does so with vehemence. The game is on now, and it’s a safe bet it’ll be the same game they’ve been playing for decades already: monopoly. Give tax dollars to the corporate heathens, roll back anything that may make things easier for working people, and funnel the young and naïve into the meat grinder of war.
We will certainly be back to normal, or abnormal, if you aren’t sick with nationalism, and that normal will entail only what is necessary to keep the money flowing into the already fat mouths up top. American citizens have somehow become the least important part of America, and it matters to no one as long as everyone else gets the shorter end of the stick. Can’t be bothered with homelessness or healthcare or education. There are evil, nasty, anti-American, commie, goat fuckers to eviscerate. The profit is too important to focus on petty morality. We have tanks to sell.
